MOMOS| VEG MOMOS
INGREDIENTS:
For stuffing:
- 1 Cabbage(grated)
- 1 Carrot(grated)
- 1 Capsicum(finely chopped)
- Salt
- 3 tsp oil
- 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
- 2 green chilies (finely chopped)
- 1/2 tsp of black paper powder
- 2 tsp of finely chopped spring onions (optional)
For dough:
- 2&1/2 cup of all purpose flour
- salt
- 1 and 1/2 tsp oil
INSTRUCTION:
For stuffing:
- Add 3 tsp of oil in pan and add green chilies and ginger garlic paste saute it for 5-6 seconds on medium heat.
- Now add all the veggies to the pan and saute it for next 2-3 minutes on medium flame.
- Add 1/2 tsp of black paper powder salt as per taste.
- Continue to saute for more 3-4 minutes on high flame.
- Now turn off the flame and you can spring onions if you want.
For dough:
- Add 2 & 1/2 cup of all purpose flour (maida) in bowl
- Add 1/2 tsp of salt and 1 and 1/2 tsp of oil ,mix it well .
- Add water little by little and knead a firm dough.
For momos:
- Divide the dough in small balls.
- Roll each ball into thin circle on lightly dusted board
- Center should be thick and edge should be thin.
- Now shape the momos as you like.
For steaming :
- If you don't have momos steamer you can use idly pan or pressure cooker.
- grease the pan
- add 2 cups of water in steamer and steam it for 2-3 minutes.
- Arrange momos in pan, keep space between momos .
- Steam it for 3-4 minutes on medium flame.
TIPS:
- Cover the dough with moist towel and let the dough rest for 20 minutes .
- Add water to dough little by little don't make too soft dough otherwise it will be difficult to shape the momos.
- Before fill the stuffing make sure stuffing is at room temperature.
- Don't over cook the momos otherwise it will be chewy .
